John Hoar Harvey
? Descendant of Jonathan Hoar, bargemaster (list of voters 1774 DP983) from 1771, who had the ‘Blue Boar’ (later the ‘Row Barge’) near the
house and malthouse already mentioned and later known as ‘St Lucians’.
Born in 1826 in Wallingford, died in Q4 1900.
In 1840, Thomas Mansell takes John H. as a Laud apprentice. This charity for apprentices was established by Archbishop Laud’s will, 1644.
In 1846, John H. lived in Hart Street.
In Q2 1850 married Alice M. Ashley, born in Benson in 1830. She is widowed in 1900.
